Our land. Our future. For World Environment Day 2024, we want to spread awareness and share some of the things we're doing for the planet!

Our B Corp Score
We are proud to be a B Corporation, and look forward to renewing our certification with improvements in the coming years. The B Impact Assessment reviews a business’ five key impact areas and independently scores and verifies them, providing an overall B Impact Score.
Focussing on 'ENVIRONMENT,' we have been evaluated on our overall environmental management practices as well as our impact on the air, climate, water, land, and biodiversity.
World Environment Day 2024 At Joanie
Our New Volunteering Policy
To celebrate National Volunteers' Week, we have now introduced employer supporting volunteering days for our staff. This means our team can volunteer up to three times a year! There are lots of opportunities, whether it is assisting at local animal shelters or volunteering at a charity shop - this is just a small way in which we hope to give back to our community.
To launch this initiative, our first company volunteering day will be at Manchester Urban Diggers (MUD). This will be a day of community gardening in MUD's nature-friendly community market garden. We are delighted to be giving back to our community and making a positive impact beyond our business.
Sustainability And Our Customer Survey

Sustainability and your opinion matter to us - that's why we asked questions around sustainability in our customer survey. Here are some interesting results:

You told us one of the most important things when considering a clothing purchase is that our production process doesn’t contribute to the loss of nature and wildlife. This is extremely important to us as well, so this year, we have introduced our Animal Welfare Policy.
Organisational Carbon Footprint
We partnered with Beyondly, a fellow B Corp who provide environmental consultancy to calculate our carbon footprint. Based on Scope 1 and 2 criteria for last year, we are a net zero organisation!
Our result was -60.6 tCO2e (yes, minus!) meaning we offset more carbon than we contributed to the environment. In order to continue to improve our carbon footprint, we have several key actions in place:
- Take monthly readings for gas and electricity
- Aim to change from gas to electric heating in our HQ
- Investigating our Scope 3 emissions to help us make improvements where we can
Is there something else sustainability-related that you'd like to ask us? We're always listening and would love to hear from you! If you have any questions or comments, please email the team at: [email protected].
