Meet Lucy, Assistant Product Developer

Hi Lucy! Tell us about your role at Joanie - what does a typical day look like?

As an Assistant Product Developer, every day is different. One day, I’ll be designing accessories, and the next, I’ll be throwing around a parcel to test it’s durability. I love the variety - it keeps it interesting, and I’ve learnt so much in the short amount of time I’ve been working for Joanie.

What’s the best bit about your job?

I get to do what I love (design and product development) but in an environmentally-friendly way. It’s hard to find that in any industry - especially the fashion industry - so I feel really lucky that our Brand Director, Lucy, is so dedicated to making sure Joanie genuinely sustainable.

Can you describe yourself in three words?

Positive, Determined, Eco-conscious.

How would you define your personal style?

I would say my style is quite natural - lots of florals, earthy colours, and flowy pieces. My friends always joke that I’m always dressed for summer, regardless of the temperature outside. I also own a lot of cow print, haha - that’s kind of become my signature style.

Ilkley Ditsy Floral Print Headscarf

Ilkley is the first style I designed solely on my own. It’s quite a nostalgic style for me, because I lived in headscarfs as a child.

This cardigan is so cosy. I love that I can throw it on with a simple outfit, and it instantly makes it more fun. Joanie Knitwear is always so soft as well!

Priya Black Floral Print Puff Sleeve Midi Dress

Comfort is key when I’m choosing what to wear, and this is probably the most comfortable dress I own. It sits really nicely, and I love the way it moves when I walk. It’s a great dress for any situation.

Jerry Serpents And Apples Print Jumpsuit

I absolutely love the print on this. I’ve ordered one to wear when I'm working at the pop-up shop, and I can’t wait to wear it!

This bag is such a staple for the Christmas party season. It’s the perfect size to fit anything you could need in it, and it looks effortlessly glamorous at the same time.
