Today’s Scripture: “For as he thinketh in His heart, so is he.” (Proverb 23:7a KJV)
The heart is the inner core of a person. Our thoughts dictate who we become. The mind of a man reflects who he is. A man’s thoughts, his feelings, his desires, and his choices make him who he really is. That is why God looks at the heart of a man and not at his outward appearance (1 Sam. 16:7).
It is important that we think positive thoughts. Thoughts are powerful and thoughts have creative abilities. There are many unhappy, unfulfilled Christians who busy themselves trying to fulfill their own desires instead of patiently waiting for God to give them their hearts desires. Proverbs 16:25 tells us that there is a way that seems right to a man, but at the end it is the way of death. According to Proverbs 4:18, we are to direct our thoughts towards things that are pure, lovely, true, noble, right, admirable, and praiseworthy.
The mind is the Key to right Christian living. 1st Corinthians 2:16 says that we have the mind of Christ, which means that we share the thoughts of Christ, His plans, and His perspectives. We should examine our thoughts and if our thoughts don’t line up with God’s Word, we are to cast down those thoughts and think on His. We are to take control of our thoughts and replace wrong thinking with godly thinking. This is done by transforming our thinking by the renewing of the mind.
As a believer, transform your thinking by spending time reading your Bible and seek other avenues of Christian materials to aid in feeding your mind things that promote a healthy outlook on life. Trust God to lead you. He will order your steps without hinderances. Don’t let your mind lead you where you don’t want to go. Seek God’s way of doing things. His promises are for His children. The Holy Spirit’s power is available to us. Live in dependency upon the Holy Spirit, seeking His strength through prayer. Get a new mindset and find freedom. Rest in the peace of God.
May the peace of God rule in your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
