Today’s Scripture: “And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Cor. 13:13 NIV)
Love is the most powerful force on the planet. The word of God says that we are like God. We are made is His image. God is love and having the image or likeness of God means that we are made to resemble Him. Through Christ we are made new creations in the likeness of God (2 Cor. 5:17). We are being transformed into the image of Christ day by day.
We are peculiar people, sanctified, set apart, and different from the world. We are commanded to love God and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. We are to care about each other, carry one another’s burdens, and pray for one another. We are God’s children; we are his body, all on one accord, brothers and sisters in Christ. God commands that we love one another. Christians without love have no power. 1 Cor. 13:1 says if we don’t speak the language of love we are as noisy gongs or clanging cymbals.
Love is a gift of the Spirit. Love is patient, love is kind, and is not easily offended, love does not judge. Love does not envy, it does not boast, is not proud or rude, nor is it self seeking or easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrong doings. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, trust, hopes, perseveres, and love never fails. (1 Cor. 13:4-8a NIV)
“Great peace have they which love thy law; and nothing shall offend them” (Ps.119:165)
Although our ability to love is limited, God’s capacity for love is endless. When Jesus sent the twelve disciples out, He told them the significance of sharing the love they had received from Him.
“Freely you have received, freely give” (Matt. 10:8b).
Dear children let us not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. Let us not love with words or speech but with action. Love is kind, love is patient, love rejoices with the truth. It suffers long and bears all things. As children of God we are to follow Christ example and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God (Eph. 5:1-2). Love always means sacrifice.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. Walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. We love because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). Let us love one another for love comes from God. Receive His love and you will spill love into the lives of others. Love your life, wake up every morning with the awe of just being alive. Live a life of love. Be a Kingdom Builder, Love Somebody Today!
Blessings of my love, from me to you!
