The Language of Love

Scripture: “Love never fails”; (1 Cor. 13:8 NIV).

Love is the most powerful force on the planet. The word of God says that we are like God. We are made in His image. God is love, and having the image and likeness of God means that we resemble Him. We are new creations being transformed into the very image of Christ daily.

Christians are peculiar people, sanctified, and set apart for God’s use. We are different from the world (1st Pet. 2:9). The world’s ways say to satisfy self, and have conditions to meet before love can be given to others. However, Christians are commanded to love one another unconditionally. Our love for God enables us to love others. Love gives us the capacity to care about others and allows us to carry one another’s burdens. We are God’s children, brothers and sisters in Christ; adopted into God’s family and made heirs to the kingdom.

Loveless Christians are powerless Christians. 1st Cor. 13:1 Amp. reads, “If I (can) speak in the tongues of men and (even) of angels, but have not love (that reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion such as is inspired  by God’s love for and in us), I am only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.”

Love is a spiritual gift given to believers by the Holy Spirit; (1st Cor. 12:7-11). As we mature in our Christian walk, our spiritual fruit develops. Galatians 5:22-23 provides a list of spiritual fruit that develops over the course of time during our Christian walk. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. It’s a nine-cluster of fruit!

1st Cor, 13:4-8a, provides a distinct description of what love appears to be like and what it is not like. “Love is patient, love is kind, and is not easily offended, love does not judge. Love does not envy, it does not boast, is not proud or rude, nor is it self-seeking or easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongdoings. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, trusts, hopes, perseveres, and love never fails.” Although our ability to love is limited, God’s capacity to love is endless.

Before Jesus sent the twelve disciples out, He told them the significance of sharing the love they had received from Him. “Freely you have received, freely give”; (Matt. 10:8b). Therefore, be imitators of God, as beloved children. Walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. We love because He first loved us; (1 John 4:19). Let us love one another for love comes from God. Receive His love, and your love will spill over into the lives of others. Love your life! Wake up every morning in awe of just being alive. Be a kingdom builder and love somebody to life!

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”; (John 3:16).

Blessings to you!

      2. Hi Artisha! It’s a rainy day here in FL. I’m watching tv, eating, and sleeping today. Going out for dinner later with my family, looking forward to the 5 o’clock hour. Lol! Sorry that we won’t be meeting this time, but I will keep my eyes and ears open for the next opportunity to meet you personally. I’m really surprised that you haven’t seen your daugher since Thanksgiving! But I’m happy to hear that the time has come to see her, it has been too long. Will keep you in my prayers. Thank you for the warm heartfelt words. I felt something special about you as I followed you on IG. I always like a person who can be real and be themselves. But not a person who is real and rude. So you are beautiful and facinating. That’s a great combination. Keep being and doing you! God’s blessings to you and your family. Enjoy your weekend!!
