Today’s Scripture: “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.” (Ps.139:7-12 NIV)
The theme here is God’s Omnipresence, which means God is always present and present everywhere. God’s omnipresence is one of His essential attributes. He is not limited by time or space. He is aware of everything in all three realms, heaven, earth, and below the earth. We cannot see God, but He sees us and there is no where on earth or any other place that God cannot see us. Darkness cannot hide us because darkness is as light to Him (v.12). Secret sins are revealed, they lie open before Him. The sinner desires to flee but there is no refuge; you cannot escape righteous judgment. The Psalmist said, “If I make my bed in hell you are there too” (v.8). There is no hasty flight, there’s no where in hell to hide.
God is Omnipotent which means He’s all powerful and mighty. His power is seen clearly in His creation.“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him” (Col. 1:16). This is a clear statement that God is the Creator and Ruler over all authorities whether they submit or rebel against Him. God says, “Let there be” and it is so, this phrase speaks of the power of God. As Creator, God created both heaven and earth, He is Lord over all. His power continues to hold us in a state of grace despite our sins; His power keeps us from falling (Jude 24).
God is Omniscient, which means He is all wise. He knows past, present, and future events. The indwelling of God’s Spirit means the Holy Spirit resides within us. The Holy Spirit is the wisdom of God available to us and for us. He possesses the same characteristics as God. He’s always present, all wise and knowing, and He sees everything. His omniscience goes beyond mans comprehension and His understanding is unsearchable.
Having disarmed the powers and authorities Jesus made a public spectacle of them (Col. 2:15). Therefore, we need not worry or fear because God took care of every detail, and nothing can separate us from His love. The Apostle Paul writes, “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom. 8:35-39 KJV). Your salvation is forever sealed in heaven.
May God’s love and grace surround you and be with you as we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Have a glorious Easter Weekend!
Blessings of my love to you!
