Today’s Scripture: God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways; He does great things beyond our understanding. He says to the snow ‘Fall on the earth and to the rain shower, ‘Be a mighty downpour.’ So that all men he has made know his work, he stops every man from his labor (Job 37:5-7 NIV).
The voice of God in the Gospels thunders out and declares many wonderful things. It produces marvelous effects, attended with Divine power. He performs wonders that no man can fathom and miracles that cannot be counted. He controls the thunder, the lightning, and the awful changes that occur during the process. The boisterous winds and rains obey when He gives the command. He produces ice with His breath and the broad of waters become frozen (v. 10). Storms with mounds of snow and ice chunks fall from the sky. He directs the storms with His voice with grand effects. He able to bring a shattering halt to everything.
“Listen! Listen to the roar of his voice, to the rumbling that comes from his mouth. He unleashes his lightning beneath the whole heaven and sends it to the ends of the earth. After that comes the sound of his roar” (v. 2-4a).
The sound of his voice is majestic; He presides over all. His acts are great and mighty, He does things in which no man can comprehend. His judgments are unsearchable. God comes in awesome majesty. We cannot imagine the greatness of His glorious power. Who can even understand the thunder of His power?
The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power. Who is a teacher like Him? God instructs men on what they should do. He quickens sinners dead in their trespasses and sin; he enlightening those who dwell in darkness. He casts down the strongholds of sin and satan. Therefore, men should revere him. Oh, that men would listen to His voice, He warns them in many ways to flee from the coming wrath. He invites men to accept salvation. Now is the time, while it is still day, for when night comes no man can work. Now is the time of the salvation of the Lord. He invites you to come.
Much love and many blessings to you!
