“Not by Coincidence; but by Divine Design”
Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 informs us that there is a time and a season for everything under the sun; there is also a reason and a purpose for everything that happens. Joseph’s prophecy manifested just as he predicted. There was a famine in Egypt for two years, and for the next five years, there wouldn’t be any plowing or reaping. God sent Joseph ahead of his family for the purpose of preserving them for a remnant on earth and to save their lives by a great deliverance. It was God who sent Joseph to Egypt, and not his brothers! It was God who made Joseph father to Pharaoh, lord of his entire household and ruler of all Egypt in order to preserve the royal blood line of Jesus. Everything that happed in Joseph’s life was designed and orchestrated by God, Himself!
The Story of Joseph gives us a theme of family relationships, sibling rivalry, brotherly love, and forgiveness. We learn to trust the sovereignty of God; we also learn to recognize God’s hand in the midst of our suffering. In end we see that all the pieces are jointly fit together to form our life experiences; for the pieces are all a part of God’s Divine Design.
Although Joseph had every reason to respond negatively he placed his faith and trust in God, knowing that God was for him, in spite of those who were against him. Joseph knew the faithfulness of God. He knew that God would never leave him, nor forsake him, especially when he needed him the most.
