Jesus taught that it was more blessed to give than to receive; (Acts. 20:35). Our response to God’s abundance with us is to share that abundance with others. When we appropriately receive God’s generosity, it humbles us. Out of gratefulness, we become more gracious with others. We tend to give out of love and self-sacrifice.
Our giving demonstrates godly character in the world. We can never out give God. When He gives we can expect our return to be a good measure, pressed down, running together, shaken together, and poured into our laps. For the measure you use, it will be measured to you; (Luke 6:38). Give and you shall receive. It is a pleasure to a liberal man to distribute to the necessities of others, and great are the advantages and profit which a cheerful giver reaps.
