Unpack Your Bags, It’s Over Now!

*ENVY

Rid yourself of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind;

(1st Peter 2:1-2).

Envy is an act of the flesh, which stems from a desire to have what another person owns. Envy and jealousy are close relatives. An envious person is jealous of the happiness of others. The world’s ways are not our ways. Instead of carrying a heavy load of envy, jealousy, anger, and resentment, give them to God.

Solution: Sowing spiritual seeds into that person’s life will create a giving heart within you. Repent and ask God to change your heart. Activate your love walk. “Bind” the spirit of envy and jealousy, and “loose” the Spirit of love. Now walk victoriously surrounded by God’s love.

Prayer: Lord, out of the depths of my heart, I cry unto you. Hear my plea, let your ears be attentive to my supplications. If you were to mark my iniquities, I could not stand. For with You, there is mercy and forgiveness. I humbly ask for forgiveness and deliverance for my troubled spirit. I have envy in my heart, and I am troubled by what I have become. I’m looking at what I desire to have, more than what I’ve received.  Envy is not of you, help me to overcome my wants, and align my will with your will. In Jesus’ Name Amen.

*LOVELESS

But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners; (Romans 5:8 NLT).

When someone feels unloved, they have delusions of worthlessness. This person believes that no one loves them, no one cares about them or for them. Feeling alone and unfulfilled can lead to a broken heart, and a broken heart can lead to suicide. Just know that you may feel lonely, but you’re not alone. God sees you, and He is a present help in the time of trouble.

Solution: If you’re experiencing feelings of being unloved, the Bible is the book for you. It’s a love letter written to those who are searching for truth as it pertains to life. The Bible unveils God’s love for His creations. Humans beings are His most prized possessions. God’s love is generously lavished on us through Jesus Christ, and nothing in all of creation can change that. (*Read Rom. 8:38-39.)

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I come before your throne of grace, seeking your face. The throne is the center of your dwelling place, that’s where I can find your heart. Your heart is filled with wonders of your love, and it reaches out to me.  Draw me near to you and open my understanding to a more profound revelation of your love. Help me to be vitally united with you and allow your love to permeate my entire being. Grant me a tender heart filled with your endless love. Thank You, Father. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

*GUILT

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of Life set me free from the law of sin and death;

(Roman 8:1-2 NIV).

Guilt is a state and not a feeling. When we cross moral, ethical, or legal lines, we are guilty. According to Romans 3:10, 23, all are guilty of trespasses before God. However, believers are free from bondage to sin, and condemnation. We can go to God as our loving Father, and repent of our sins; (Roman 8:15-16). After God has forgiven us we cannot be found guilty. God forgives and forgets the offense because Jesus paid sins death penalty at the Cross. The blood of Jesus washes our sins away!

Solution: There’s no need to feel guilty or ashamed after you’ve been forgiven by God. Know that condemnation is not of God, and accusations are of the devil. Resist the devil and he will flee from you; (James 4:7). God never condemns us, but He does correct us. Receive God’s yoke and learn of Him, and He will make your path plan and straight.

Prayer: Father God, we give You thanks and praise for the finished work of Jesus on the Cross.  Thank You for taking away our shame and condemnation. Your Word tells us in Romans 8:1-2(NLT) “So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus” And because we belong to You, the power of the Holy Spirit has freed us from the power of sin that leads to death. In Christ Jesus, we are a new creation and are in right standing with You Father. Help us to live for You and no longer conform to this world’s way of thinking and living, but we want to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. We want to totally live for You, Father. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

In Conclusion:

Jesus said that His burdens are light and we can make a faith exchange. By faith, you can exchange your troubles for His peace. You can leave your problems with Jesus because He already took care of them at the Cross. He is the Good Shepherd, and He’s calling you to follow Him. That means to walk by biblical principles that are set for successful living.  Put worldly ways behind you and follow the will of God for your life. Life doesn’t have to be perfect to live it, you just have to be perfectly ok with living it. Trust and believe that your latter days will be greater than your former days. So, Unpack those bags because IT’S OVER NOW!

*PRAYER

Lord God, I do understand that peace does not come when I am worried or confused. Grant me the strength and power to control myself whenever I’m feeling perplexed or worried. Rejuvenate me and set me free from unhealthy emotions. Take the ashes of my past hurts and pain, the heaviness of the baggage, and give me rest for my soul. Lord, pick up the broken pieces of my heart and make me over again, as the potter does the clay. Transform my heart and help me to love others the way that you love us. Thank You for mercy and grace and for taking away the reproach that held me captive. I’ve unpacked my baggage and I’m on my way! In Jesus’ Name Amen.
