“Physicians, heal thyself”; (Luke 4:23)
You’ve heard it said that time heals all wounds, well to be exact, God has designed the human body to heal itself within time. God is the Master Designer of all life, and He designed the human body with the ability to repair and reproduce within itself. After every laceration, the body will repair the affected and infected areas. Even broken bones will heal if they are set properly.
The Complexity of God’s Human Design
The human body is composed of 37.2 trillion cells, 300 million old cells die every minute, that’s approximately 18 billion cells per hour. The body composes approximately 50-70 billion new cells in the human body daily. The average adult has 100,000 miles of blood vessels. The human brain has over 100 billion nerves. It truly is incredible how our vessels are encoded to perform. How is it that our bodies are always enduring such a complex series of systematic processes without us even knowing its operating mode?
Clearly, this is the work of an ingenious deity. The complexity of our bodies and its functions prove what an Omniscient Creator God is. He knew us before we were born. God knows everything about us, including the very number of hairs on our heads, (approximately 100,000 strands); (Matt. 10:30; Luke 12:7). There is nothing that compares to the encoded processes in our anatomy; these processes are ingeniously designed by God.
“Shepherds Heal Thyself”
God is the Greatest Physician of all. He has cleverly designed an earth suit (flesh), for every human being residing on planet earth; (Eph. 2:10). Your body has a limited warranty, designed to last only for one lifetime. We should value our bodies above all other earthly possessions, treating ourselves with the utmost care.
Many physicians today are a part of a wellness program designed to educate people on how to take proactive steps to boost their health and stay well and live longer. We depend on doctors to inform us of what precisely is taking place on the inside of our bodies when we sense any abnormalities. The body is designed with a built-in alarm system that sends signals to its owner whenever it isn’t functioning properly. If we cannot pinpoint the problem, or if an issue of a more serious nature has occurred, a physician should be contacted. He or she will perform a diagnostic procedure to identify specific areas of weakness and strength in order to determine an illness, injury, or disease.
“Doctors are able to treat symptoms medically, but they themselves are incapable of curing anything. Only God is able to heal, deliver, and restore a person to wholeness.”
In order to maintain a healthy lifestyle, we must maintain a proper diet, exercise regularly, and avoid harmful foods that are triggers for illness, disease, and even death. Be cautious to avoid excessive amounts of salt, processed sugars/high fructose corn syrup, and genetically modified foods. Also, be mindful of the long-term effects of prolonged and excessive use that these products which can have a negative effect on the body. Read and research labels, and learn to identify exactly what you are consuming before you purchase products. Take the time to research ingredients that you aren’t familiar with or have never heard of. Don’t simply believe that because something tastes good that it’s good for you. Take ownership of your health and your life.
As shepherds over our earthly bodies, we are entrusted to care for our health, physically, mentally, and spiritually. By having an overall health-conscious mindset we can expect our bodies to perform to full capacity. Man is God’s most prized creation, we honor Him when we treat our bodies with care and respect; (Ps. 8:4).
If you cherish the gift of life and have taken responsibility for maintaining your health, you can certainly look forward to living a wholesome and happy life. Hopefully, with discipline and determination, you will remain the same until that glorious day that God calls you home.
My Prayer: To anyone who is experiencing pain in their body, may God heal you everywhere that you hurt. In Jesus’s name, amen.
Blessings to you Friends!
